The Wines

The provenance of these wines are amongst others, Lanzerac, SFW/Distell wines ( Alto, Chateau Libertas, Zonnebloem). Nederburg, Douglas Green, Bertrams, Montagne, Oude Libertas, Bellingham, Rustenburg, Verdun, Zandvliet and more. The wines were stored in proper conditions for 40 – 55 years in a dark, cool and quite cellar and were not moved until recently.

Comprehensive tastings were done and the quality of the wines ranges between good to great to excellent. We are confident that you will score most of these wines high in the 90’s.

The famous and respected Wine Pioneer, Danie De Wet who referred to the wines as “crown jewels” and “Picassos”. He recommends the wines for its quality and he is confident that as the wines are still good after 40 to 55 years, it should remain good to be enjoyed for another 20 plus years.

Beyers Truter (Beyerskloof) described the 1963 Lanzerac Pinotage as “the perfect wine”, while Johan Malan (Simonsig) stated that it was probably “the best Pinotage he has ever tasted”.
